Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their senior finance team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and continuous improvement of financial reporting, controls and business performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware accountant who enjoys partnering with operational teams, driving process improvements and providing meaningful financial insight within a complex manufacturing environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of financial control, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance activities, while leading and developing a small finance team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning processes
- Managing inventory, WIP and cost accounting controls
- Maintaining balance sheet integrity and robust financial governance
- Leading external audit processes and statutory compliance requirements
- Supporting operational and commercial decision-making through insightful analysis
- Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting and processes
- Managing payroll oversight, pensions and key financial contracts
- Developing finance team capability and promoting best practice across the organisation
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or similar role
- Strong financial reporting, control and audit experience
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial or product-based environments
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset
- Advanced Excel and systems skills
Experience of inventory accounting, WIP management, costing and operational finance will be particularly advantageous.
