Heidi Wright Recruitment is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of an established infrastructure group. This is a hands-on commercial finance role, working closely with operational leaders and project teams to understand how contracts are performing and support decisions on costs, margins and cash flow.
What you’ll be doing

Work with project managers to review contract performance, challenge costs to complete and flag risks to profitability early.

Lead budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow, and identify opportunities to improve cash collection.

Improve project reporting so operational teams can see what’s driving performance and where action is needed.

Support the wider business with capital investment appraisals and analysis of asset costs and utilisation.
What you’ll bring
Qualified by experience, part of fully qualified accountant with experience in project accounting, job costing or contract profitability. Your background could be in infrastructure, construction, engineering or another project-led environment. You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail of a forecast and explaining what it means to the people delivering the work.
Location and travel
The role is based in Carlisle, with one day each week at a second site approximately two hours south of Carlisle.
