The Opportunity
Working closely with the Board and executive leadership team, the CFO will hold responsibility for the strategic financial leadership of the group, ensuring robust governance, commercial performance, operational control, and long-term financial sustainability.
The remit extends well beyond traditional finance and requires an executive capable of operating at Board level across strategic decision-making, acquisitions, funding, compliance, risk, and organisational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic financial direction of the business
- Oversee banking relationships, funding structures, and capital strategy
- Drive financial planning, commercial analysis, and performance optimisation
- Provide executive leadership across governance, compliance, and risk management
- Lead and support acquisition activity, including M&A strategy, due diligence, negotiation, and integration
- Ensure robust regulatory compliance and corporate governance frameworks
- Partner with the Board on long-term strategic growth initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance and operational teams
- Support wider business transformation, operational improvement, and organisational development
Candidate Profile — Non-Negotiables
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Fully qualified accountant status (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant Board-level or senior executive finance leadership experience
- Proven expertise in strategic finance and funding
- Strong governance, regulatory, and compliance experience
- Demonstrable M&A and corporate development exposure
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management capability
- Commercial credibility, strategic thinking, and executive presence
Experience operating within complex, multi-entity, high-growth, or entrepreneurial environments will be highly advantageous.
